Your goal is to control the cost of your USL&H risk. Our goal is to get you there. No other USL&H provider gives you a representative whose sole purpose is to help you set and achieve your performance goals. AEU Account Managers are there for you to help coordinate loss control, claims, and underwriting to ensure you are receiving the benefits that you were promised and are staying on track toward achieving these objectives.
Some believe it's none of your business, but it is. We always want our members to be in the know. That's why we created our industry-leading member Dashboard to provide current access to their claims statistics, loss control performance, Claims Specialists' caseloads, premiums and member benchmarking. Helping members detect hazards before they become problems - it's a no-brainer.
Access to Leading Industry Expert, Jack Martone
AEU is proud to have access to industry expert, Jack Martone. Jack is the former U.S. Department of Labor Chief of Financial Management and Insurance and Acting Director of the Division of Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation. He has over 31 years of experience with all aspects of the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, and consults with members and brokers to understand jurisdictional issues. Jack is a valuable educational resource to the AEU team and their clients. He is also moderator of the AEU Longshore Blog, which can be found by clicking here.
ALMA Member Advisory Council
As far as Longshore goes, we seek advice in the most unusual places. The ALMA Member Advisory Council is one of a kind in USL&H insurance. Made up completely of members, this Council pushes us to always seek improvement and deliver what our members need. Sometimes a group mentality just makes sense.
Advantage by AEU
Just because you're half the size, doesn't mean you get half the services. Advantage by AEU provides focused loss control and claims services for our members paying less than $150,000 in premium. The concept of Advantage stemmed from AEU’s primary responsibility; to protect the interest of ALMA and its members. We felt a need to extend service offerings to accounts whose needs are not currently being met in the marketplace.
AEU LEAD Program
AEU is a little different when it comes to USL&H insurance. Not only do we expect our members to have high safety standards, but unlike most other carriers, we’re willing to take the time to work with members on a strategy to help them improve. Our AEU LEAD program delivers a practical, customized change management plan that allows your employees to work safer every single day. Led by Woody Collins and Joe White — industry veterans with firsthand knowledge of safety best practices — AEU LEAD provides recommendations from trusted advisors who know what it takes to make workplaces safe.
