Awarded the 2007 Man of the Year by the National Maritime Safety Association (NMSA) Served as Chairman of the NMSA Technical Committee for 6 years Served two terms on the Maritime Advisory Committee for Occupational Safety and Health (MACOSH), a nationwide advisory committee to OSHA on safety and health issues in shipyards and marine cargo handling firms ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ Steve Morris - 30 years of experience Before joining AEU Steve was safety director for a large shipyard and its subsidiaries. Certified Safety Professional Past chairman of the Shipbuilder’s Council of America Safety Professionals Committee Also served two terms on MACOSH​​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ Carl Halgren - 27 years of experience Before joining AEU Carl was an OSHA Area Director. Professional career includes 35 years with OSHA, where he was recognized by labor, industry and OSHA leaders as a national expert in shipyard and marine cargo handling safety programs Founding member of OSHA’s national Maritime Steering Committee Served for 20 years as Area Director for OSHA’s Portland, Oregon office​​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ Terry Guidry -  30 years of experience Before joining AEU Terry was a safety director for a large shipyard with 12 locations. Served 9 years on the prestigious Marine Chemist Qualification Board Worked with OSHA Region 6 to create “OSHA Partnership Agreement” with medium size shipyards Member of OSHA’s Fire Protection in Shipyard Employment Negotiated Rulemaking Committee.​​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ Woody Collins -  21 years of experience Before joining AEU Woody was Project Manager for a large repair shipyard. Served as liaison between the shipyard workforce and the vessel owners having work done on their boats  Previously owned a labor provider company for the marine industry.  In that position, was responsible for safety and risk management as well as operations manager for two inland tug boats Previously managed the auditing process for the implementation of safety management system for a large shipyard, including training facility safety coordinators​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ John Bloess – 20 years of experience Before joining AEU John was Corporate Safety and Loss Control Manager for the Georgia Ports Authority. He experienced tremendous success in substantially reducing the GPA’s personal injury frequency rates and property damages while at the same time instilling a positive safety culture for the entire organization While working previously with AEU he provided clients with on-site safety consultation, safety audits and safety training ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ Brad Whitney – 12 years of experience Before joining AEU Brad was a Senior Loss Control Consultant for a large national insurance company. For the past twelve years, he has provided worker’s compensation loss control consulting for a variety of business classes His experience includes work site evaluations, large loss accident investigations, providing recommendations for safety improvements, and partnering with accounts to gain management commitment and increase employee/associate involvement in safety Brad received his B.S. in Environmental Science/Geology from Oregon State University and earned his Certified Safety Professional Certification in 2011 ​
