MOBILE, Ala. – The American Equity Underwriters, Inc. (AEU), the leading provider of workers' compensation insurance for waterfront employers and program administrator for the American Longshore Mutual Association (ALMA), announces that Brad Daroca has been promoted to the role of Managing Director.

Brad began his insurance career in 2005 with American International Group, Inc. In 2013, he joined AEU as a claims specialist and transitioned to the position of underwriter in 2018, focusing on the West Coast region. In his new role, Daroca will work directly with insurance brokers and ALMA members to ensure the highest level of service.

“Brad’s experience in claims and underwriting gives him a unique perspective, which has helped him develop many long-term, positive relationships with members and brokers,” said AEU Chief Commercial Officer Winchester Thurber. “His ability to foster meaningful relationships coupled with his industry experience and knowledge makes Brad an excellent addition to our Managing Director Team.”
