The American Equity Underwriters, Inc. (AEU), the leading provider of workers' compensation insurance for waterfront employers, announced the winners of the 2022 AEU Safety Awards.
AEU, the program administrator for American Longshore Mutual Association (ALMA), a group self-insurance fund providing USL&H coverage under the United States Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, presents the awards each year to the best-performing ALMA members nationwide.
"A focused and dedicated commitment to safety is the foundation of a successful company," said Adele Hapworth, CEO of AEU. "We're proud to recognize the 2022 AEU Safety Award winners. This award is a testament to the hard work our winners put in daily to create a culture of safety at their companies."
"At AEU, our priority is helping members achieve their safety goals," said Jimmy Burgin, SVP, Director of Loss Control. "It's an honor to reward our members who have proven, through hard work, an ongoing commitment to their safety programs."
Eligibility for the awards is based on the frequency and severity of workers' compensation incidents for the prior calendar year, as well as safety-related metrics determined by AEU's loss control team.
